Flare has launched a new product, to allow users to sign-up in advance of an emergency to have the peace of mind that someone will be there to help you. For as little as Ksh 1,500 annually, individuals and families have access to a medical team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
“If anything happens, you just call the hotline and help arrives within 15 minutes. And if it doesn’t arrive in 30 minutes, you’re fully refunded your membership, and they’ll still make sure you get the best help possible. “We want to completely change people’s expectations around how simple and fast emergency help can be in Nairobi. That’s why we are willing to make this promise to all of our members,” say Maria Rabinovich, co-founder and CTO Flare.
Launched during the Christmas season, Rescue is built on Flare’s tech system where you simply need to call one hotline during a medical emergency. From there, you are instantly connected to the largest network of quality providers.
“Help is only 15 minutes away,” says co-founder and CEO Caitlin Dolkart. “Previously response times were closer to 30 – 75 minutes.”
While there are plenty of quality ambulances, the lack of a coordinated system meant that often the closest ambulance was not dispatched for each patient and the ambulance crews struggled to locate where the patient was calling from. “Our tech solves both of those problems.” added Rabinovich.
While Rescue is only accessible to Nairobians today, Flare has big plans for 2018. They’re already expanding to the areas surrounding Nairobi, and are looking to expand to Mombasa and Kisumu and to a number of counties across the country.
