OLX, a Naspers’ classifieds platform has partnered with Savanah’s Comic of the Year winner, Skhumba Hlope to double up its user numbers this January in South Africa.
The site is working with the commedian to show users how easy its to use the platform and make smart financial choices this tough month of January. In a new TVC, Skhumba shares tips and advice on financial freedom with a light touch to help them avoid stretching a paycheck to pay their bills.
According to OLX South Africa’s Country Manager, Thembani Biyam, “We wanted to strike a balance in not taking ourselves too seriously while addressing a topic that’s important to everyone in an engaging, relevant way. We want to show people that OLX offers a fast, simple, safe and local way of being financially smart.”
The Januworry campaign aims to turn the supposedly long month into an economically free one by turning to OLX to sell things they don’t use in their homes and offices instead of incurring debts stretching their wages and salaries.
