Is Signal That Different From WhatsApp? Here Are 5 Ways It May Be Different

Telkom has launched a new post-paid call tariff dubbed Telkom Move, a blended offering with a pre-set amount of data, talk time and SMS targeted at heavy data users in the country.

Compared to its competitors, Telkom’s new proposition at Ksh. 2,499 per month for 25GB data, unlimited on-net calls and 800 off-net minutes plus 800 SMS is affordable and reasonable and resonates with most data users in the country.

According to the Communication Authority of Kenya’s (CA) Q3 statistics, Internet services recorded a significant increase on all fronts, driven by the Internet/data service sub-sector with mobile data/Internet services as a key driver. Further, it is anticipated that the demand for and use of mobile broadband services will increase significantly with the roll out of 4G mobile services across the country.

The report further points to an upward trend in mobile data subscriptions at 29.6 Million, which represented 99 percent of all Internet subscriptions.

Telkom says its new package represents the best value in the postpaid market for middle to high value customers and aims to see Telkom Move to push for more new signups to its 4G service across the country.

Telkom is not the country with such a proposition. Just recently Airtel launched a new set of monthly postpaid bundles offering calls, data and SMS. The smart bundles offer a great value of up to 30GB of data, 125 hours of calls and 3,000 SMS. The plans cater for the increasing demand for blended offerings that meet all the requirements of our customers.

The new smart postpaid plans aimed at heavy data, SMS and voice users offer minutes and SMS that can be used within Airtel and to other networks. Customers to roll over unused data from the previous month onto the next. The plans are available to individuals, students, heavy social users, entrepreneurs, small business owners, professionals and corporates.

Safaricom on the other hand has its Platinum proposition, which targets high value customers with value that matches their lifestyles. Platinum is a digital-only proposition and is only available on MySafaricom App.

Customers have two options when they sign up for Platinum: Platinum Plus and Platinum. Platinum Plus is a monthly plan that comes with data limits of up to 40GB and 4,000 voice minutes, while Platinum allows subscribers to consume and renew their subscriptions as they go, using airtime or M-PESA, with up to 30GB of data and 3,000 voice minutes depending on the subscription value.
