Kenyan entrepreneur Bernard W. Njoroge MD of Adrian Kenya on his entrepreneurial journey

Bernard W. Njoroge quit his position at DHL International to start his entrepreneurial journey. He founded logistics firm Benafrica Kenya Ltd in 2007 which had signed up various multinational companies and NGOs in just two years to become the go-to logistics firm in East Africa.

It’s that success that led him to launch Adrian Kenya, his second company in energy, ICT and telecommunications sectors in 2009.

Being a results driven and a commercially savvy professional with a total of over fifteen years’ experience, Bernard has built a reputation as one of Kenya’s outstanding business leaders, a mentor and a go-getter over the year career in the corporate sector. He has developed a track record in strategic thinking, new business development, commercial execution and innovation in management. He has also had a broad and successful career within large international corporations like DHL and FedEx international, including various managerial and commercial roles.

As the Managing Director of Adrian Kenya, Bernard has seen the firm become of the fastest growing SME Company in East and Central Africa transforming lives through building, integrating and maintaining infrastructure in telecommunication, ICT and Energy sector.  

Through Adrian Kenya, Bernad is keen on creating innovative solutions that solve existing problems while mentoring and training fresh graduates in engineers thus bridging the existing technical gap in the emerging markets. Adrian Kenya employs over 300 personnel directly and over 500 others indirectly. Through leadership/stewardship of Ben Njoroge, Adrian has been recognised and won awards for best company in employment services, legend experience and eco award and also the fastest growing company.

Bernard’s handling of Adrian Kenya, from its inception to date, is a story of Kenyan entrepreneurship and innovation a rare feat in an industry which has less local bred entrepreneurs in the driving seat. Bernard has proven to be an effective leader who greatly influences the people he leads by bringing the best out of them. He enables people to deliver their best, to achieve their potential and accomplish more than they thought they could. He has consistently impressed in his fast-thinking and ability to find the value in projects by thinking on his feet and finding practical and financially viable aspects of projects. He has a healthy competitive nature that challenges himself and those he leads to exceed their potential.

Bernard has played a key role in shaping the Telecommunication ICT and Energy industry as it is now, if he is not engaging policy makers, he is in constant communications with other industry leaders, partners and stakeholders. Making him more than just another managing director but an industry think tank and go to man.

With over 312 personnel employees and over 500 others indirectly, Adrian Kenya has been voted the fasted growing company in the region. Recently Safaricom voted the company as the “Best in deployment services” Previously the company has been awarded “Legendary Experience Awards” among many others. Adrian has also expanded into Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi trading as Adrian Group.
