Movies have changed a lot in the last decade. The traditional movie making has been replaced by computer and CGI. In this era where there has been growth in Netflix, Amazon and other similar online streaming services, the changes have been more prominent. On average visual effects in any movie costs anywhere around $25 million dollars per movie. If you add 3D it goes up by another 15 million dollars. With the increased demand and liking of fantasy and sci-fi films, it has pushed the producers to add these to their movies. People always want to watch something which is unbelievable and far from the realistic world.

To make this happen you need a lot of advanced effects, sound, graphics, and props. Since every filmmaker wants his/her movie to be different and something which has never seen before, it means that everything has to be developed from scratch.

With the advanced technology, superior 3D visual effects software and excellent computer programming, it has become easier to develop 3D print props. These props are very realistic, detailed, accurate and can be customized as per the scene and purpose. This, in turn, saves time and money of the filmmakers. As we have computer 3D printers which have played a great role in the film industry and are quite useful in making props and for the R&D process. There are many options and you can compare the 3D printers to find the best one for your use.

So how useful is 3D printing? This is something which you will understand when you look at the various successful projects in the film industry. These projects helped 3D printing make a name for itself. Since the 1990`s special effects have been growing in movies. It has become a common thing to use the 3D software in movies. The 3D Modelling teams are an essential part of the team who develop universes, atmosphere, and even the designs. There can be many contributions such as 3D design, scanning, and printing in a movie.

3D printing has picked up pace now and a lot of people have abandoned real objects and have started to focus more on CGI. It is less costly and can create excellent images of the required object. Now filmmakers mix both the real object and CGI to get the best results on the screen. The studios, investors, and shareowners want something different and are quite demanding, however, they want to use the cheapest techniques to achieve these results. The cheapest way is to use additive manufacturing or use 3D printing material. It is cheaper than any other material which is available. It is also easy to compare 3D printers with any other method to design the props and you will find that 3D printing is easier and less costly. These props can be used for different things and filmmakers have been using this to the best of their requirements.

With the help of additive manufacturing, the team was able to create realistic models. It is the fastest way and the most cost-effective option.

Many designer teams and movie makers have used 3D printing to make custom-made costumes for a movie. Using 3D printing they were able to push the limits while designing the outfit. Recently a movie was made using the 3D printing technology.

Conclusion:-

The option of 3D printing has changed the way movies are now made. With more and more people opting for 3D printed models and props. The 3D printing itself has been highly useful to the movie industry and is saving a lot of money and time.
