Pay Television Company StarTimes Media has today introduced a flexible subscription payment service that will allow subscribers the freedom to pay subscriptions daily, weekly or on a monthly basis.

A first in the Pay Television industry, the service is tailored to enable subscriber’s continuity in watching premium television content based on the amount they wish to spend at a particular time.

Speaking during the launch ceremony, StarTimes Director of Marketing and PR Mr. Japhet Akhulia noted that the flexible subscription payment option presents subscribers with increased freedom and ability to plan ensuring they do not fail to catch their favorite programmes due to insufficient funds.

“In rolling out the flexible subscription payment system, we are providing our subscribers with the choice of daily, weekly or monthly payment options enabling them to plan accordingly based on the resources at their disposal while ensuring they do not miss their favorite programs on StarTimes,” noted Mr. Akhulia.

With four bouquets available on the StarTimes terrestrial technology platform, subscribers can now pay a daily fee of as low as Ksh 22 on Nyota bouquet, Ksh 50 on Basic bouquet, Ksh 83 on Classic bouquet or Ksh 125 for Unique bouquet.

Weekly charges on Nyota, Basic, Classic and Unique bouquets will be Ksh 86, Ksh 200, Ksh 333 and Ksh 500 respectively. The monthly charges for each bouquet remain the same at Ksh 259, Ksh 599, Ksh 999 and Ksh 1,499 respectively.

StarTimes subscribers on the satellite television platform will also now be in a position to access three of the available bouquets at a daily rate of Ksh 37 for Nova bouquet, Ksh 75 for the Smart bouquet and Ksh 125 for the Super bouquet.

The company also announced the introduction of the StarTimes Mobile Application that will see over 60 premium television channels available on mobile devices in Kenya.

The StarTimes Mobile APP which is compatible to the Android and iOS systems is now available for download on Google Play and Apple App Store will feature Live television channels, electronic program guide as well as enabling users to catch up on their favorite programs that they could have missed.

The APP will also feature Standard Definition (SD), High Definition (HD) and Ultra High Definition (UHD) content in four languages namely English, Kiswahili, French and Portuguese. This will allow users to access diverse content genres including local content, sports, telenovelas, movies, documentaries, news and music.

“At StarTimes, we want to progressively grow avenues where users can access our content anywhere at any time.
