DEMO Africa Innovation Tour Dates Announced

Now in its seventh year, DEMO Africa is set for 18th – 19th October in Morocco, but before the final Demo Day, DEMO Africa will hold Innovation Tours across various African cities to coach and mentor interested startups, as well as share tools that can help them build and grow their businesses.

The Innovation Tours will be held in 12 African capital cities from June to July in partnership with partner hubs and accelerators across the continent.

The first city on DEMO Africa Innovation tour – East Africa Edition will be Kampala, Uganda at Hive Colab on the 11th June 2018 from 2.00pm. The tour aims to bring together startups and technology industry players to look at ways to turn innovations into business ventures.

Entrepreneurs from East Africa will get a chance to pitch to a panel of highly placed individuals in the tech sector, access tools worth more than US$120,000 from Microsoft, access infrastructure worth more than US$15,000 from AWS, mentorship and coaching, meet investors and buyers, gain publicity for their startup and a chance to join a fully paid US Innovation Tour and showcase their product at the event.

Thirty companies will be selected to launch their products at the main event in October. The 30 companies will also receive mentorship and will attend a 2-day Bootcamp in preparation for their launch and software and services worth more than US $150,000 each for the next three years. DEMO Africa entrepreneurs are equipped with the knowledge, mentorship, tools, connections, financing and supportive community that they need to survive and grow their businesses.
