Maurice Communication Marketing, EtuDesk and WeFlyAgri selected DEMO Africa tour winners in Cote d’Ivoire


Three startups were selected to represent Ivory Coast on the second round of the competition. The three, Maurice Communication Marketing, EtuDesk and WeFlyAgri were pronounced winners of the Cote d’Ivoire tour.

Maurice Communication Marketing showcased, pass santes mousso a jewel (bracelet or medallion) which is connected to an online platform to allow patients/individuals to take around their personal and medical data. The jewel is an emergency response tool which helps make available the data collected to the attending medical and emergency personnel.

EtuDesk is an e-learning web application that helps academic institutions, organisations and companies to set up their online learning programmes easily and at low cost.

WeFlyAgri is an agritech solution that gives farmers control of their land, allowing them to see and manage it without moving. With the use of drones and an integrated easy-to-use software farmers can remotely monitor their farms and identify inefficiencies in production for better management of their land.

A total number of 12 startups were present and with no doubt all came prepared to impress the selected panel of judges. 

“DEMO Africa tirelessly works at discovering those startups that are potentially capable of illuminating the African Tech Ecosystems. Cote d’Ivoire has brought out good innovations and we DEMO Africa are pleased to be part of such amazing generation changers,” commented Harry Hare of DEMO Africa.

The Cote d’Ivoire winners are the last piece of the puzzle in West Africa and the three winning teams will see their innovations facing off those of Nigeria and Ghana all competing for the regional title. The winning regional team will represent West Africa at the launch event to be held in Morocco on the 18th and 19th of October.

The successful startups in each region will automatically qualify to be part of the pool of 30 where the successful Startups will be provided with resources worth over US$150,000 including US$120,000 software tools from Microsoft and USD$15 000 from AWS that to help them build and grow their businesses.

Application for selection to the 2018 DEMO Africa cohort close on 15th July. Application is done online on the DEMOAfrica site at
