Startup World Cup 2019, the third edition of the global startup pitch competition with a $1,000,000 grand prize is searching for the next world champion amongst the top startups from around the globe and will be co-hosting regional events in Japan, in Australia, in Spain, in Czech, in the US, in Germany, in U.A.E. and Kenya, in Scandinavia, and in South Africa.

With sponsors including Microsoft, SEGA Sammy, EY, Deloitte, Orrick, Wiley Rein, and others, Startup World Cup is now seeking for partners in regions to find the most promising startups and connect them with regional and global thought leaders and investors.

Thousands of startups from all around the world applied to the 2018 competition. Winners from 28 regional events across six continents pitched their startups at the Grand Finale in San Francisco in May 2018. Leuko Labs from Boston took home the trophy with the $1,000,000 investment prize. Second place went to Flitto from South Korea, and third place was a tie between Strap from Mexico and Wallbox from Spain.

Startups interested in global exposure, mentorship from global investors, and a potential prize are encouraged to apply for any of the Startup World Cup 2019 regional competitions at http://www.startupworldcup.io/applynow.

The Startup World Cup Grand Finale features prominent figures from the high tech community, including John Chambers (Former CEO of Cisco), Steve Wozniak (Co-Founder of Apple), Reid Hoffman (Founding CEO of LinkedIn), Vinod Khosla (Co-Founder of Sun Microsystems), Adam Cheyer (Co-Founder of Siri), Marc Randolph (Co-Founder of Netflix), and Jay Vijayan (Former CIO of Tesla).

Startup World Cup had veteran investors from Kleiner Perkins, Y Combinator, Techstars, Intel Capital, 500 Startups, GE Ventures, DFJ, Social Capital, Index Ventures, and Plug and Play Ventures, as well as investors from all over the world, judging the global and regional finals. Startup World Cup 2019 Grand Finale is scheduled for May 2019 in San Francisco.
