EatOut, Kenya’s most popular food community has partnered with Truecaller, the mobile identity and communication platform to enable faster user registration and onboarding.

EatOut and Truecaller aim to make sign-ups and phone number verifications easier for new users in their app. The integration aims to further bolster EatOut’s customer identity verification process which in turn helps minimizing risks of less verified users and maximizing trust in the EatOut platform.

EatOut is the go-to source for foodies and has been a catalyst in transforming the region’s food scene. Over the years they’ve launched innovative products such as Yummy Magazine and Nairobi Restaurant Week. At the core, however it is their extensive restaurant directory and their generous promotions that is changing the way consumers dine in the region.

“Truecaller is popular among millions of our users in Kenya, and we’re excited to announce that users can now sign up for our app using Truecaller. The process is seamless and is a step further in making food discovery more accessible,” says Mikhul Shah, Managing Director at EatOut.

Truecaller SDK, as part of Truecaller mobile identity platform is a toolkit for digital startups, app developers, and other online businesses. An efficient, secure and asset-light solution, Truecaller SDK is designed to minimize complexity in user on-boarding and verification process. In turn helps businesses build more trust on their products and platforms, offer more personalization and enables further evolution of the quality of users being served by them.

“EatOut are changing the way people discover food, and we are excited to play a role in this vision by enabling tools that increase trust and enable frictionless user onboarding. Our ambition is to bring this solution across the ecosystem,” says Zakaria Hersi, Director Business Development & Partnerships at Truecaller.

Over 50 million Africans use Truecaller, and it has become one of the most important communication app in the region. In February 2018, Truecaller announced plans to deepen the collaboration with the business, startup and developer ecosystem in Africa, and the partnership with EatOut represents a strong move towards helping African businesses leverage the power of Truecaller’s mobile identity platform.
