Kenya’s online sports betting firm SportPesa has denied plans to go public refuting media plans that had earlier reported that the firm had engaged Nairobi-based Kestrel Capital to guide the process.
Speaking to Reuters, SportPesa Chief Executive Ronald Karauri said the firm has no IPO plans and did not give further details on whetehr they had talks with any firm to help on the IPO process. Kestrel Capital also did not give any further details on the report.
Run by Pevans E.A. Ltd, Sportpesa operates around Africa and the UK where it sponsors a number of activities with teams such as Arsenal and Hull City among others as well as other competitions and tournaments and local leagues. The online Sport gaming platform provides over 500 games daily for playing including Football, Basketball, Rugby, Tennis and Cricket for both local and international games.
