New taxi hailing app Vutaride launches to take on Little, Uber & Taxify in Kenya

Launched in June 2018, Vutaride taxi app is banking on USSD as its competitive edge over its competition such as Uber, Taxi, Little among others with its introduction of USSD Code *401# for its users to browse through, select and hail their taxis as the competition in the market stiffens. Vutaride becomes the second platform with a USSD platform after Little which is backed by telco giant Safaricom.

Run by Managing Director Prof Mohamed Hussein Abdille, the new app promises both its drivers and passengers increased savings and incomes as well as cost savings respectively. Passengers can choose between normal saloon taxis, Tuk Tuk and boda boda in a number of local languages in East Africa.

Vutaride is also building courier and delivery services services among other new services to help drivers make extra money to supplement on their earnings from taxi services. In case of an emergency  e.g robbery, Vutaride gives drivers access to a panic button that sends notification message to its  emergency team plus fellow drivers within the area with location of the stranded driver enabling faster response time.

Vutaride also promises customer service around the clock to passengers who need help or feedback on its pricing, driver-partners among others.
