Tech YouTuber MKBHD Launches ‘Waveform’ Podcast Alongside Studio71

Marques Brownlee who is otherwise known as MKBHD recently launched a podcast named Waveform with the help of friend and MKBHD producer Andrew Manganelli. Waveform, which is being produced in conjunction with the influencer agency Studio 71, marks one of the first major non-YouTube projects Brownlee has taken on.

Brownlee who has more than 9 million subscribers on his tech-focused channel MKBHD,  is one of the top, if not best technology YouTubers. From reviews of phones to an in-depth ‘Autofocus‘ car series, Marques covers a wide range of technology.

Apart from MKBHD, Brownlee additionally works with The Verge’s father or mother firm, Vox Media, on a YouTube sequence referred to as Retro Tech. In it, he spotlights one iconic piece of vintage tech in every episode alongside fellow YouTubers, educators, and inventors.

Waveform: The MKBHD Podcast will feature tech and product news, tips on running a YouTube channel, and exclusive interviews between Brownlee and tech industry heavyweights. The Podcast is available on AppleSpotify, and Google‘s podcast platforms. Unfortunately, Waveform is not available on YouTube.

In a statement, Brownlee commented, “Over the last ten years and one thousand plus videos, I’ve built one of the largest tech channels on YouTube. But even through all of that, I’ve realized I have more to share. I’m excited to launch Waveform, which will explore everything from tech news and new products to the videos that surround them. You can also expect some behind the scenes tips on running a tech channel and maybe even some unfiltered takes that don’t make it to YouTube.”

Waveform: The MKBHD Podcast, Episode 1

In the first episode, Marques and Andrew discuss the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Note 10, upcoming phones and what is expected to come in future episodes.

However, Marques isn’t the only Youtuber running a podcast, creators like Philip DeFrancoLogan Paul, and David Dobrik have all launched successful podcasts that get uploaded to secondary YouTube channels.

Most of these podcasts exist on traditional audio streaming platforms, like Spotify and Apple Podcasts, but many YouTubers also upload video versions to YouTube, a platform where they can easily make money with pre-roll and banner ads.
