Zippie, a Hong Kong blockchain-based mobile wallet and super app has gone live across Africa to allow companies to reward their customers using mobile airtime directly into their blockchain-powered wallets.
Zippie’s CEO Antti Saarnio, who also founded Sailfish OS, said Zippie’s goal is to democratize opportunity for everyone.
” Zippie’s mission is to democratise opportunity globally by providing universal identity, wallet and reputation score to everyone. This will enable people to trust, share and trade information, products and services globally without borders. World becomes a village.”
Zippie’s white label “super app” enables any online business to reward their users for their online activities such as online shopping, referrals and completing online surveys.
Zippie users can send prepaid airtime micro-rewards for loyalty and referrals, as well as free sharing of rewards and other value without app downloads to push for growth. Through affiliate programs, users can spend, lend, work, earn and play inside the blockchain-powered app.
The app aims to help its partners to improve user retention and acquisition with micro-rewards. Zippie allows users to collect points and upon reaching threshold level can convert points to prepaid airtime or other valuable items such as shopping or loan discount vouchers. Zippie supports airtime vouchers in 170 countries and with 800 mobile operators.
One unique proposition for Zippie is that sending value between Zippie wallets is instant, free and borderless. Users can share a transaction link through any messenger app such as WhatsApp even if the recipient doesn’t have a Zippie wallet, as one is created automatically when they receive the value.
Through white-labeled Zippie accounts, firms can reward their users whenever they spend online, play, take loans, work, send or order an item. Partner firms use Zippie APIs to integrate to the Zippie super app then view performance and optimize rewards through their own dashboard.
Zippie’s mobile blockchain platform has already been integrated with Zambia’s AfriDelivery, Musanga, Java Foods and Tigmoo. The firms are rewarding their users for purchases, deliveries and referrals with Zippie’s technology.
Pasi Rusila, COO & Co-founder Zippie believes that Zippie has achieved its first objective of being able to reward users with something of real value.
“Importantly, the market entry provides us also the opportunity to get the Zippie platform to the hands of thousands of end-users within months. This enables us to gather the always-so-critical user feedback and steer the product development in the right direction, fulfilling genuine market needs,” Rusila said.
