iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max | What is the difference?

The long-awaited 2019 iPhone 11 lineup

After a year of Apple’s iPhone 11 rumors, supply chain chatter, mockups, and renders, at a special event on Tuesday, the company unveiled the long-awaited 2019 iPhone lineup; iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and iPhone 11.

Apple being a producer of one of the most popular phones in the world, the new iPhones face a challenging market. As seen by iPhone sales falling 12% in the fiscal third quarter, profits expected to dip to $9.6 billion and more people trading in their iPhones for Androids.

Apple’s new flagship phones need to be compelling enough to draw in new customers or keep current customers interested. Not forgetting that it’s rival Samsung took the capes off its Note 10 Series on Aug. 7, and the phones are looking pretty great so far.

Getting back to this year’s iPhone lineup, we must have all wondered, what the difference is between the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro.

This iPhone line-up features the powerful new A13 Bionic processor, multiple rear cameras and a pack of the camera and video tools like Night Mode.

Apple claims that its new processor, the A13 Bionic is the fastest CPU and GPU in a smartphone. It is powered by 7-nanometer architecture and packs 8.5 billion transistors into the package. This is a massive upgrade compared to the A12 Bionic, which had 6.9 billion transistors.

The A13 Bionic features four high-efficiency cores which are 20 percent faster and consume 40 percent less battery power than the previous generation, and two high-performance cores, which are 20 percent faster and 30 percent more efficient than the A12 Bionic.

The GPU is also 20 percent faster and 40 percent more efficient, while the neural engine comes equipped with eight cores, is 20 percent faster and consumes 15 percent less power.

Here are the different new features, the tech specs, and, importantly, the prices.

The iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max start at $699, $999 and $1,099, respectively. Preorders begin Friday (Tomorrow, Sept 13) and they’ll be available in stores on Sept. 20.

iPhone 11 lineup prices

The major difference that stands out between the 3 is that the iPhone 11 comes with a 6.1-inch LCD display, while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max come with Super Retina XDR 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED displays, respectively.

Another quite obvious and yet major difference is that the iPhone 11 has two cameras; a wide and ultra-wide, while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max come with three; wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto.

The phone’s capacities are another important difference. All start with 64GB of storage, but the iPhone 11 also comes with 128GB and 256GB storage, while the Pro versions are available in 256GB and 512GB.
