World of Warcraft players jumping over to Classic WoW from retail are finding Classic WoW Gold hard to come by. In retail, it’s easier to rapidly fill your bags full of valuable items to sell on the Auction House and weigh your pockets down with some shiny Gold. In Classic, players are slowly ticking up the Gold by collecting measly amounts of silver. So, how do you flush out your Gold in Classic? You can either buy WoW Classic Gold, or you can play the long game with the Auction House. Here are our tips for Phase 1.
Nature Resist Gear
With many players reaching level 60 and getting ready for the Molton Core raid, fire-resist gear is extremely popular and expensive. However, nature-resist gear is still cheap on the Auction House, because these items and gear aren’t needed until much later when Ahn’Qiraj (AQ40) launches. Scan the Auction House for cheap nature resist gear and save it in your bank to resell later.
It seems like almost all players have chosen gathering professions like mining, herbalism, and skinning on their journey to level 60. This means the Auction House is heavily saturated with ores, herbs, and leather, to the point where they are selling for near Vendor price. Putting these items on the Auction House is a waste of your energy. Instead, you should either save them until the market settles out, or send them to an alt to level Blacksmithing, Alchemy, or Leatherworking.
There are no battlegrounds in Phase 1 so most players aren’t focused on low-level twink gear that will become fiercely sought after later on. Twinks were hugely popular in Vanilla WoW and will be again in Classic. Level 19 was a very popular level to twink at, so if you see any level 19 bind-on-equip blue items on the Auction House going for cheap, buy them. When Battlegrounds are introduced to the game in the later stages, you can sell these items for a profit.
Get an Auction House Addon
Auction House addons like TradeSkillMaster (TSM) or Auctioneer can help massively with Gold making. Although different addons will have a slightly different suite of features, they almost all tell you whether an item is selling for a decent price. This can help you decide whether to buy an item and relist it to make more WoW Classic Gold, which is currently much more valuable than WoW Gold in the original game.
Buy Vendor Items From the Auction House
Some unknowing players have been listing items on the Auction house for less Gold than they sell for at a vendor. This means you can simply trawl the Auction House and find these items, usually Green bind-on-equip items, and sell them to a vendor for a profit. If you get an Auction House addon, most of them will have a ‘vendor’ section, or a feature built in to also tell you the vendor price of an item so you don’t have to research each item.
