Google Calendar launched a standalone application for Google tasks in April last year, The app is currently under testing.

The new task buttons once rolled out, will allow users to add to-do list items more easily. The tasks give users a single destination to keep track of important tasks in G Suite.

The app aims to bring in all reminders from Inbox/Gmail, Calendar, and Assistant under one roof.

Tasks can be accessed from the right-hand add-on panel in Gmail and Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

Users can set up tasks to repeat monthly, weekly and even daily.

According to an APK teardown by XDA developers. The integration is under testing for seamless management fo all aspects around personal and work diaries.

Additionally, Google calendar is bringing options to create repeating tasks, tasks descriptions and other task-related features.

9t05Google blogposts adds that tasks added on the task calendar will appear as in the standard calendar view. Users can add accent colours for each task as well as set notifications for each task.

If you get a notification of a task, it will act as a native Google Calendar notification rather than a Tasks notification.

The Calendar allows you to dismiss tasks after completion.

XDA developers tried out a manual integration on version 2019.4.7.2-284533606 release of the Google Calendar and it resulted out that the app has a new task button.

According to the developers, the tasks allows to quickly add task the same way you add a goal.

All you need you need to do is, tap on a new task button, select a date, select your task and choose if you wish it repeated.

For easier differentiation between the Google calendar and the taskbar,  the app also lets you select different colours for tasks as well as set up different notification sounds.

The Google Tasks notification looks like any other notification pushed from the Google Calendar. Once you go through it, you can dismiss it by tapping on the Done button.

Additionally, the task button features can work without necessarily having the Google Task app. Users only have to launch the dedicated Tasks app if you open the task view from your calendar or a notification.

Alternatively, You can access the tasks. If you open the task view on Calendar or from task notification on the overflow menu.

Ahead of the rollout, the application from the XDA review sounds like a real hack for Google Calendar users.

However, It is not clear when the final rollout will be completed.  Considering that it’s being tested, chances are it may be available on Google Calendar app in the nearest future.
