Enterprise AI is the new favourite buzzword amongst the tech leaders. But it is not just a buzzword, which will be forgotten with time or a short term wonder, which will be used for a case or two.

If successfully scaled up across verticals and levels of a company, enterprise ai can turn to be an asset to the successful business outcomes. In simpler words, leveraging enterprise AI today can lay a strong foundation for the future.

What is Enterprise AI?

We are all familiar with AI (Artificial Intelligence), AI applications and AI platforms, but suddenly the term Enterprise AI has risen up to the top of the charts, making people wonder, what is it about AI that we aren’t aware of. Well! For starters, enterprise AI is part of the larger gamut of business applications, including basic functionalities such as image recognition, and speech recognition among others.

Enterprise AI is everything that we have heard about automation, including RPA (Robotic Process Automation), which perform rule-based repeatable tasks with the help of attended or unattended bots to help increase efficiency and productivity of the businesses as a whole. Apart from this, enterprise AI also leverages Machine Learning, which is known to self-learn from ongoing patterns and predict and enable actionable insights. In short, enterprise AI is artificial intelligence for enterprise. Due to increased market dynamism and competition, today’s enterprises are always looking for competitive advantages, which is the driving force behind the increased demand for enterprise ai solutions. The enterprises gather as much data possible and feed into these systems, which identify and understand the patterns, providing actionable insights helping enterprises make informed decisions.

Enterprise application software such as image recognition are like eyes to these machines. They capture images with their inbuilt cameras and convert data through digital processing. Some of the ai enterprise software also include medical imaging and signature identification. AI platforms have proved their mettle time and again with regards to increasing business productivity and people efficiency, impacting enterprise data management strategies and IT infrastructures.

AI now runs in the bloodstream of businesses. Most of the organizations are using technology to automate processes to ease decision making. However, it has still not been scaled to its optimum. Though AI has proven successful for enterprises who have adopted it, most of them are still in the early stages of automation or adopting AI in Silos, due to which they are lagging behind their competitors who took the plunge early in the digital transformation journey, leading the change. Many fear its challenges and many lack the required talent or skills to run AI in their enterprise. But, why must one not ignore enterprise AI?

Today, enterprises are leveraging AI across verticals including customer service, finance, recruitment, R&D and IT and there is a paradigm shift in the way AI is being leveraged. It is no more at an experimental stage. We have moved to the applied AI stage and enterprises are benefitting from informed and intelligent decision making which is impacting the way supply chains are functioning and enhancing the customer experience. As the experience becomes better with time, the demand for enterprise AI would only see an upsurge, driving the demand for AI as a service.

Future of Enterprise AI

Although top enterprise ai companies are leveraging AI to its optimum and leading the change, there are still a lot many questions that remain unanswered. Enterprise AI is not an internal decision. It is decision influenced by internal factors as well as external factors, influenced by data choices by the enterprises and the industry as a whole. It also requires acceptance and involvement at a strategic level and investment to build the necessary digital data infrastructure, lack of which will through upon more hurdles and challenges, making it a weaker attempt and costing the enterprise its time, effort and resources. This in turn would affect the quality of data, and derived insights ruining the outcome, which is why it was implemented in the first place.

The future of enterprise AI lies in the enterprises take to AI. As enterprises continue to use AI in areas they have ready data available, they are able to see the results. As we gather more data and apply enterprise AI to derive actionable insights, it will throw light on many new areas and systems where we can see the impact. Today, from tracking a shipment to customer experience, AI is helping us understand the journey of our product or services from its need to its success in satisfying the need. It is only a matter of time that enterprises will adopt AI in its complete form and reap benefits.
