Microsoft Introduces Microsoft 365 With AI & Cloud-Powered Features

Microsoft will be unveiling its new Microsoft personal together with family subscriptions to replace the current office 365. The plan will be available as of 1st April 2020. Both the personal and family option will include access to office alongside other new features that will be rolled out.

The personal plan will be retail at $6.99 and $9.99 monthly subscriptions for the family package of up to six persons. Both plans will include everything in the office 365 including desktop office apps.  1TB of Onedrive cloud storage per person, 60 Skype minutes, security features. Additional technical support, plus the new Office features also announced today.

Those features are spread across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams. If you’re already an Office 365 subscriber, you will learn that Microsoft is adding a lot of Office-related features with this transition to Microsoft 365.

Users will soon be able to access the existing Editor feature of Word. Which is more of an advanced proofing service than the regular grammar and spellcheck features.  The editor improves your writing by flagging words used too frequently. Or alternatively, teach you phrases to improve your writing style.

Microsoft 365 subscribers will get access to more advanced grammar and style guides, including a rewrite option that offers to rephrase entire sentences. There’s an additional similarity checker to prevent plagiarism and coax students to properly cite their content.

Powerpoint will also get exclusive features, for instance, the existing presenter coach feature will get a monotone pitch and speech refinement. The feature will monitor your tone of voice and suggest variations and ways to improve your speech.

One of the other aspects of family life that Microsoft is trying to tackle with its consumer subscriptions is money budgeting. Money in Excel sees Microsoft return to its Microsoft Money personal finance management. Which will make it easier to track and analyze spending in Excel. Microsoft will connect to your bank and credit card accounts to import transactions and balances. It will also generate alerts for fees, charges, and monthly spend. It’s a feature that will become available first in the US in the coming months.

Excel is also getting new data types to support things like food, places, movies, and even different types of pokémon. Microsoft will be returning to its money personal finance management roots for easier tracking of expenditure on excel.

Office Insiders will be able to start testing these data types in the spring before they roll out to all Microsoft 365 subscribers in the US in the coming months.

Microsoft is also be unveiling a new Password Monitor feature for its Edge browser. The Password Monitor will constantly let you know if any passwords have been compromised so you can change them easily.
