Twitter to allow employees work from home permanently

Twitter has told its employees that they work from home permanently even when the pandemic fades away.  Out the 5000 employees the company boosts. Only those with critical roles such as maintaining servers will have to stay at work.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, through an email  to his employees, confirmed that the offices will be open but the employes are free to work from home along as they see fit.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Twitter was among the first startups to allow employees to work from hoke to flatten the curve of spreading the virus and also f0or their safety.

“We uniquely positioned the company to respond quickly and allow folks to work from home. Given our emphasis on decentralization and supporting a distributed workforce capable of working from anywhere. The past few months have proven we can make that work. So if our employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue to do so forever. We will make that happen If not, our offices will be their warm and welcoming selves. But with some additional precautions, when we feel it’s safe to return”

The company further noted that its top priority is the safety of their tweeps including the responsibility to support communities. Especially those that are vulnerable.

Beyond that, the company has outlined a several plans to look up to for the next few months. The set plans includes banning of any company related business travels before September with very few exceptions. Including  in-person company events for the rest of 2020.

While also adding that when they  do decide to open offices, it be a snap back to the way it was before. It will be careful, intentional, office by office and gradual.

Twitter also plans to asses 2021 events later this as they work through uncertain times with the pandemic.
