Huawei’s mid-range level Y series, started in 2015 will be introducing two new smartphones to this series in Kenya, the Y8p and Y6p.

The two devices will go on pre-order as from 15^th June until 20^th June in all retail stores across the country. The phones run Huawei Mobile Services and come preinstalled with the AppGallery, Huawei’s version of the Google Playstore and Apple’s Appstore.

The HUAWEI Y8p packs a 48MP AI Triple Camera Set consisting of 48MP main camera, 8MP Ultra-Wide angle camera, a 2MP depth camera for bokeh effects and a 16MP AI Selfie Camera. The camera’s AI can recognize up to 22 scenes while shooting and intelligently adjusts any settings required for a perfect shot.

On the other hand, the HUAWEI Y6p is targeted at users who do more with their smartphone and demand more battery life, this new smartphone comes with a massive 5000mAh battery that not only lasts long during intensive use. The HUAWEI Y6p has a 13MP Triple Camera setup with a 13MP main camera which excels in low light, a 5MP Ultra-Wide and a 2MP depth sensor for natural bokeh effects. This is complemented by an 8MP Selfie camera upfront as well.

The HUAWEI Y8p has a 3GB of RAM for smooth running of apps, 64GB of storage and an MTK Helio P22 processor for efficient performance.

Huawei Mobile Kenya recently released its HUAWEI Y7p, the first smartphone without Google Mobile Services under its HUAWEI Y Series.

The Huawei Y7p runs Huawei’s EMUI9.1, a customized version of Android 9, has a Kirin 710F with an integrated octa-core processor and has a 4GB RAM.
