Agnes Gathaiya is the new Google Country Director for East Africa

Agnes Gathaiya will replace Charles Murito as Google’s new Country Director for East Africa. Her main role will be to manage all regional operations for the tech giant in East Africa.

She will also be in charge of developing and executing Google’s in-country strategy for innovation and growth in line with Google’s regional priorities and mission, vision, and values and contributing to in-country growth of Google products and services.

Agnes will see to the building and managing of strategic partnerships; this includes all relationships with leading advertisers, agencies, and clients as well as driving revenue growth.

She has an impressive 21 years of experience in organizational transformation, with a primary focus on developing strategy, and providing commercial leadership in sales and business development.

Gathaiya previously served as the CEO of Kenyan fintech company, Integrated Payment Services Limited (IPSL).

Gathaiya’s predecesor, Charles Murito, has been transitioned into a new role within Google as its new Director for Sub Saharan Africa, Government Affairs & Public Policy.

She holds a Master’s in Business Administration from United States International University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Bryn Mawr College in the USA.
