realme C15 Review | Super Battery Performance

We have covered the pre-launch and launch of various realme smartphones in the Kenyan market.

However, we would like to give you a quick review of the realme C15 that has already been termed as a game-changer from its C Series category because of its amazing features.

The realme C15 ships with Android 10-based Realme UI 1.0.phone and has 6000mAh battery featuring 18W Quick Charge allowing users to charge their phones within the shortest time possible. Its massive battery supports 46 hours of continuous calls or 28 hours of YouTube watching, with an average standby time of up to 57 days.

realme C15 retails under 20,000 shillings and supports 2 Nano SIM cards and 1 MicroSD card at the same time, and supports a maximum of 256GB memory expansion. The phone comes with a Helio G35 gaming processor with a frequency of up to 2.3GHz allowing for gaming and normal consumption at high performance without slowing down or restarting.

We love the realme C15 because its’ a budget smartphone under $200 succeeding the Realme C11 and Realme C12 and packs a massive 6,000mAh battery backed by 18W fast charging support.

Design and display
The realme C15, like the Realme C12 has a waterdrop display at the front and a plastic rear panel a fingerprint sensor, and a square-shaped camera corner section. The fingerprint scanner is next to the camera module and is easy to reach while the phone is in use. The phone’s power button and volume rocker are on the left side of the phone. The power button is easy to reach while in use. The bottom edge has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a micro-USB port, and a speaker grille. The phone has a triple card slot for two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card.

As you can see in the image above, the phone has a fairly thick bezel on the bottom and a notch at the top. The bezel and the notch eat into the display size and make the display smaller compared to versions with the same display size minus the bezel and notch. The display’s standard HD+ resolution is okay and good for text, images and video in light and when dark.

Cameras
For its price, the realme C15 comes with an average quad-camera system with 13MP primary sensor plus 8MP wide-angle lens, a 2MP Black and White lens, and a 2MP retro lens. 13MP and 8MP are not very impressive cameras on any smartphone in this generation and though the phone is just $160, the firm would have given it second thought how photography and videography are important to this generation.

As a selfie generation, the 8MP sensor works but not so well if they taken indoors or in low light conditions.

Hardware and software
The realme C15 packs MediaTek Helio G35 chipset, an entry-level gaming processor, to keep the prices down and give users in this bracket something powerful to work and play with.

The processor works well for media, productivity, and app use. However, the more the apps in the background the sluggish the phone becomes. But its performance is average for gaming and excellent for social media, messaging, and calls and app use.

Battery
With a massive 6,000mAh battery capacity, users can enjoy more than 24 hours of battery life on voice, SMS, and light social media browsing. Though the phone is not made for gaming, its battery life can sustain up to 12 hours of continuous gaming or watching movies or series on Netflix.

The 18W fast charging support helps users have the battery full in an hour or two. Without fast charging capability, it could take longer than two hours to have the phone fully charged.

Conclusion
With its specs and price, the realme C15 is a worth buy especially for users in the mid-range segment who want a working phone with less sophistication and great battery life. The long lasting battery is actually the biggest selling point for the realme C15.
