Google Photos to get new editor on Android with AI suggestions

Google is rolling out a new editor for Google Photos on Android devices. The update will provide automatic one-tap suggestions supported by machine learning, refined controls, and a cleaner interface.

In addition to this, the new app allows you to view the specific edits made for your liking. The redesigned user interface will let you edit photos directly in Google Photos without relying on third-party as it has been previously. The updated application has begun to roll out on all Android devices.

Google Photos will have a new ‘Suggestions’ tab in Google Photo’s menu that will use machine learning to offer recommendations tailored to the specific photo you’re editing.

Google promises to add more suggestions in future on the app like enhance and color pop to help a specific type of photos on pixel phones like landscapes, sunsets and more.

The regular editing tools on the app will also be re-arranged. Scrolling and applying finer edits such as brightness, contrast, saturation, warmth, etc. will be easier, and new tools can be introduced including a new layout for its general editing tools.

Google has been reportedly working on this new interface since late August. The new features will add to the recent enhancements on the app to allow three-tab design and server-side switches to provide users with a “simpler experience.”
