Nokia reaches 100 5G deals and 160 commercial 5G engagements in Q3

Nokia says it has reached 100 5G deals after signing 17 in the third quarter of 2020. The wins comprise of 100 5G deals with individuals customers and 160 commercial 5G engagements including paid trials.

Nokia’s milestones include the introduction of the industry’s first Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS) solution that supports spectrum sharing between 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G.

According to the company, Nokia, enterprise customers make up 12 per cent of its 5G deals while 88 per cent represent commercial deals with recent private wireless deployments including Deutsche Bahn, Toyota Production Engineering and Sandvik.

Nokia also boasts a 180-strong portfolio of private wireless customers, many of whom are expected to migrate to 5G. Nokia’s presence in all 5G early adopters is also a top addition to its 5G momentum.

AS at now Nokia also has deals with the top four US CSPs including Korea and Japan.

But, we are moving fast – and these wins make it clear that our progress is being validated by customers. We deeply appreciate their ongoing support and are committed to delivering for them.”

The company has also contributed to the worlds first largest scale migration of over five million legacy 4G radio units to 5G via a software upgrade, making it easier for operators to move to 5G. Additionally, it also made its 5G standalone (SA) private wireless technology commercially available in July.
