ServiceMyCar SA auto-tech startup launches with $311,000 seed funding

ServiceMyCar was started in January 2019 but launched to the public in August 2020. It is the product of father and son Athol and Aidan Quin from South Africa. The startup shows customers the vehicle repair workshops near their location as well as quotations for services offered. The customer can also book in their vehicle for a selected date in their preferred repair shop.

“Through many years of motor industry experience we have identified that this is a huge problem for both workshops and customers. Customers face the challenge of finding a trustworthy, transparent and cost-effective workshop whilst workshops – both franchise and non-franchise – face the challenge of increasing volume, securing bookings and having reliable customer support,” Aidan Quin said.

ServiceMyCar has partnered with 70 independent and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) workshops in Western Cape region, South Africa. With the help of the $311,000 seed fund, the auto-tech startup plans on expanding to Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal before the end of this year.  In January, Aidan plans on raising a series A round to expand nationwide. Later on, plans for growing into Nigeria, Namibia and Botswana are in the cards as well as Aidan stated.
