TikTok introduces parental control feature known as family pairing.
The number of children on TikTok is a lot more than on any other platform but controlling what they do while they are there is already an ongoing challenge. My 13-year-old sister is always on TikTok and honestly I have no clue what she’s doing there but there’s a high chance my mum will be excited when she finds out that she can now control who comments on my sister’s content or whether or not she’s allowed to search anything.
Family pairing was first launched in April.
This new mode allows parents to sync their accounts with their teens which would allow them to see what their teens were doing. Parents would be able to monitor screen time, messages or even put it in restricted mode. Basically, if your a parent and you’re able to monitor what your teen is searching and the kind of content they are interacting with you will be able to now turn on or off the ability for other users to see the teen’s “Like Videos” on their profile.
