Since COVID happened there’s no denying that everyone is a high risk and the fact remains that you are responsible for your own health at this point. Drivers are one of the people who would be considered to be in a vulnerable position. Taxi drivers interact with a lot people, some who may be covid positive and refusing to wear a mask is simply selfish for the welfare of the driver and the client. However, when David asked the couple to wear a mask they started hurling insults.

The man seen on the video started using the “n” word and appears to be relieving himself. African Americans and Africans in America are often accused of intimidating other races even when it’s not true, the one thing that has saved millions of Africans is technology. David knew that the incident would be flipped on him so he decided to record instead.

Lyft also issued a statement and wrote:

“There is no place for discrimination of any sort in the Lyft community. This behaviour is unacceptable. We have permanently removed the rider from the Lyft community and are in touch with the driver to offer our support.”

The client apologized and claimed that his racial slurs were caused by his drunken state:

“I humbly apologize for my behaviour towards David K. the Lyft driver on Tuesday night. I should have never said the things I said nor acted like a complete idiot. He didn’t deserve that. Nobody does. I had too much to drink and lost control of my tongue and I said horrible things that I truly regret.”
