What are all the modes on my Apple Watch?

With the release of WatchOS 7, the number of modes available on the Apple Watch has become a bit ridiculous. There is now Airplane Mode, Silent Mode, Do Not Disturb Mode, Theatre Mode, School Time Mode, and Sleep Mode. Here’s what they’re all doing.

To turn either of these modes on or off, tap the “Control Center” button on your Apple Watch, then tap the appropriate icon. In some cases, certain modes can also be triggered automatically.

If you don’t see an icon in the Control Center, you can add it by clicking on the “Edit” button; any undisplayed icons will appear under More.”

Silent Mode

When it’s active, your Watch will not make any beeps, buzzes, or other warning tones, like alarms, even though it will always vibrate and send you a haptic alert. Otherwise, it will function as usual.

To turn Silent Mode on or off, tap the bell button. Silent Mode will also be enabled when you put your Watch in Theater Mode.

Theater Mode

Switching on Theater Mode will activate Silent Mode to avoid all warnings. In addition, it will also turn off your Watch’s always-on display (if it has one) and disable lift-to-wake display.

To turn Theater Mode on or off, tap the Drama Masks button.

Sleep Mode

Sleep Mode will turn on Do Not Interrupt Mode, turn off the always-on screen, disable lift-to-wake, and activate a quick, low-brightness time-only face-watch.

To turn Sleep Mode on or off, tap the icon of the bed. Sleep Mode will be enabled automatically if you have a sleep schedule set up.

Do Not Disturb Mode

Do Not Disturb Mode is similar to Silent Mode, but with a few significant differences:

·         Keeps updates and warnings from sounding or lighting up the phone, with the exception of alarms and if activated, calls from your favorites list contacts.

·         It doesn’t stop apps from making sounds like you’re using your watch.

·         Activate Do Not Interrupt mode on your Watch will also activate it on your iPhone, and vice versa.

Toggle Do Not Interrupt Mode on or off, tap the Moon icon. You may set it to stay on for an hour, until later in the day until the calendar event is over or until you leave your current spot. It will also be triggered automatically if you have it planned, you have a sleep schedule, and depending on whether or not you have the options available, when you’re working out or driving.

Airplane Mode

It disables all the radios in your Apple Watch except Bluetooth. This means no Wi-Fi, GPS, or, if you have it, Cellular.

Airplane Mode has a few uses:

·         It helps you to comply with airline policy and different laws around the world, without turning your Apple Watch off.

·         It offers a fast way to force your Watch to reconnect with Wi-Fi networks, GPS satellites, or cellular services. It can really help to turn things off and on again.

·         It’s going to conserve battery life when you want to.

To turn Airplane Mode on or off, tap the “Airplane” button.

Schooltime Mode

Schooltime Mode disables all apps and complications, instead of showing a basic time-only face view. It also allows non-disturb mode.
