How to change your alert sounds on Mac

When you’re trying to do something that isn’t allowed on your Mac, it responds with a loud, annoying alert sound. You can use System Preferences on your Mac to change the alert sound and its volume.

To get started:

You can also have a flash screen when an alert appears. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility, then click Audio and select “Flash the screen when the sound is alerted.”
