MIUI 12.5, Xiaomi’s home overlay based on Android 11, is coming to six of the manufacturer’s smartphones. The entire Mi 11 range is affected, as well as the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10 Ultra, and the Mi 9 SE.
As you may know, Xiaomi officially presented MIUI 12.5, its overlay based on Android 11, in December 2020 alongside the Mi 11. By the manufacturer’s admission, the development of this overcoat was the most difficult because of the many problems encountered to guarantee good performance, stability and adapt the applications.

Thus, the integration of the overlay is still not available on the smartphones of the Mi 11 range, namely the Mi 11, the Mi 11 Pro, and the Mi 11 Ultra. At the beginning of April 2021, Chinese owners of Mi 11 could migrate to the stable version of MIUI 12.5. However, as we learned from our colleagues from the GSM Arena site, Xiaomi is preparing to deploy the stable version of its new overlay on six other smartphones.
Thus, the Mi 11 Ultra and the Mi 11 Pro are also eligible for a switch to MIUI 12.5, just like the Mi 10, the Mi 10 Pro, the Mi 10 Ultra, and the Mi 9 SE. For now, this migration to MUI 12.5 only concerns Chinese users. Initially, Xiaomi intended to deploy the stable version in China on April 30, 2021. Still, eventually, the manufacturer’s developers managed to finalize the last details on the stable version before the scheduled date.
