AppCyclers is an e-waste management startup that provides upcycling solutions through E-Waste Collections services, E-Waste Recycling and E-Waste Education to promote a safer greener environment in Ghana and Africa as a whole.

Founded in 2019 in Tamale, Northern Ghana, AppCyclers provides online services for individual households, businesses, organizations and institutions to trade off their used electronic, electrical and home appliance gadgets. AppCyclers is an online platform solution that focuses on reshaping the way consumers buy and sell electronic goods. The startup acts as a middleman to provide individual households, businesses, organizations and institutions with options on how they can trade their used gadgets for cash.

In addition, the startup offers Pick-up and Drop-off of e-waste at a fee. AppCyclers offers drop-offs services of all electronic and electrical waste at the user designated centers. The pick-up service in the startup’s platform is available for all customers, businesses or households.Appcyclers picks up electronic waste from clients homes and business upon a request for a small fee.

To enable clients get rid of information or data from their e-waste completely, AppCyclers provides destruction services of data from hard disk, floppy disk, etc. These are done through deleting, degauss and destroy.

AppCyclers  provides e-waste education through  training, research, workshops and competitions for and with stakeholders to explore new ideas, potential solutions and business models for e-waste recovery (reduction, re-use, recycling).Additionally, the startup does electronic up-cycling by recycling and upcycling  electronic waste into useful products.

The product features offered by AppCyclers are user friendly with mobile friendly websites alongside high resolution photos and video with user generated reviews. In the AppCyclers platform, consumers can pay and receive to all mobile money networks and they are  also assured of a safe and risk free transaction and delivery of products.

AppCyclers focuses on reducing the amount of e-waste from the environment, through advocacy, adoption of the 3R’s, and using innovative collection mechanisms.

AppCyclers vision is to become a trusted and leading e-waste management company in Ghana and Africa at large. The goal is to address SDG 11 (Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable), 12 (Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns), 3 (Good health and Well Being), 8 (Decent Work), and 17 (Driving Sustainable Growth through Partnerships). The startup provides an efficient means for waste disposal for individuals, homes and offices as they deliver the value of sorting e-waste into gradable forms acceptable for recycling companies
