Best cheap phones 2021

Flagship smartphones come at a hefty price tag, which can be intimidating if you’re in the market for a new phone. Thankfully, there are a variety of fantastic low-cost phones on the market right now.

Realme X50 5G

If you’re looking for the best cheap phones, the Realme X50 5G deserves your attention, as it offers a truly fantastic feature set for less than £300.

You get 5G connectivity, a stunning 120Hz panel, long battery life, and Snapdragon 765G speed.

These features aren’t available in a low-cost hardware package, either. Realme offers a curved glass back (which is uncommon among inexpensive phone competitors) as well as a surprisingly premium overall appearance, all while keeping the price low.

OnePlus Nord N10 5G

OnePlus created a reputation for itself by offering flagship phones at lower pricing. It’s now going all out with a low-cost device. The OnePlus N10 5G isn’t the lowest model in the lineup, but it’s significantly less expensive than the OnePlus 9.

A 90Hz display, a 5G-capable Snapdragon 690 CPU for good gaming performance, and a multitude of average cameras on the back are some of the notable features here.

Google Pixel 4a

The Pixel 4a has been a long time coming, and it finally does justice to its Pixel 3a predecessor. It earned a spot in our list of the best cheap phones by providing a fantastic camera experience at a reasonable price.

While the Pixel 4a’s combination of low pricing and top-notch Google photography prowess will entice many, there’s a lot more to enjoy about it. In a world of super-sized gadgets, the new mid-range Pixel delivers a pocketable experience for people who yearn for the days when handsets were smaller.

Realme 8 Pro

The Realme 8 Pro has a lot of features that we truly appreciate. First and foremost, there’s the 108MP main camera on the back, which is impressive (for the price) and even offers adequate digital zoom. The next option is quick charging, which can get you to 50% in roughly 17 minutes. We also like the price and the fact that it has an OLED display.

Poco F3

The Poco F3 isn’t the cheapest phone on our list, but it comes with a slew of high-end features that make it a good deal. This includes a near-flagship Snapdragon 870 CPU, a stunning OLED display, and 5G capability. Even at this price, 5G support is becoming more prevalent, but it’s still not guaranteed.

One of the standout features is the OLED display, which not only has a brilliant 1080p resolution but also supports HDR10 and has a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling.

Motorola Moto G8

It might now be treading back into the flagship space, but Motorola’s finest phones remain its budget options – at least in our eyes. The Motorola Moto G8 ticks many of the boxes we look for when it comes to picking an easy to recommend entry for best cheap phones.

It has a good main 16-megapixel camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and it performs well and has a long battery life. Specifications include a Snapdragon 665 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 4000mAh battery.

The screen, which isn’t as high-resolution as some of the other Moto G8 models, is our only significant complaint.

iPhone SE 2

Apple’s new phone isn’t spectacular, but it manages to pack a lot of premium features into a package that’s hard to pass up, earning it a spot in our list of the best inexpensive phones.

Instead of mimicking the existing iPhone SE, the iPhone SE 2 appears exactly like the iPhone 8, which is no longer available. Curved edges, a glass back, a thick bezel, and a circular Touch ID sensor give it a familiar feel, even if it may appear dull to others.

Underneath the veneer, though, this is a fantastic phone. Although the 12-megapixel camera performs brilliantly in daytime and records superb 4K 60fps video, we wish it could perform better in low light.
