Tik Tok has selected its top animators to create videos for a campaign against bullying dubbed #CreateKindness The campaign is a series of videos aimed at raising awareness on how online bullying can occur and how users can navigate such challenges.
The company seeks to foster an inclusive atmosphere , pointing out the fact that bullying behavior “damages the trust-based nature of the app by harming people’s confidence in themselves.”
Some TikTok popular animators include king Science with a following of over 11 million people, have written and created movies that will give their perspective concerning causes of bullying online and how a user can handle negative comments by focusing on good ones. Other animators featuring in the campaign videos include milkymichii, Recokh, Kelly Emmrich, AmyRightMeow and Rosie.gif.
A video titled “What We Don’t See By King Science encourages people to treat others with compassion and to “remember that you never know what someone is going through.”
Another video, called “Power of Words” by Rosie.gif, emphasizes the impact words can have on a person and implores users to consider their comments before they post.
These videos are intended to deliver the message that every human being deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. The company says, its important to continue initiating an atmosphere where everyone feels safe and welcome to create and share authentically. Bullying is not tolerated on TikTok.”
The videos will be available on TikTok’s Discover page for a whole month and on the account @TikTokTips. The company is also inviting users to engage in the #CreateKindness campaign by creating videos that inspire people to show kindness.
