If you want to buy the Samsung Galaxy Watch4, you should first check whether the smartwatch is compatible with your smartphone. In contrast to the previous model, the watch can no longer be used with an iPhone and with all Android smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch4  offers first-class equipment, including a fast Exynos W920, a bright AMOLED display, and various sensors. As Samsung confirms in the technical data of the smartwatch, however, there are more significant compatibility restrictions than with the Galaxy Watch3.

Above all, the new smartwatch can no longer be used with an iPhone, which should be a consequence of the new operating system because the Galaxy Watch4 relies on Google Wear OS 3.0 instead of Tizen like the older models. However, there are also restrictions on Android smartphones – the requirement of Android 6.0 and 1.5 GB of memory are unlikely to be a problem for most devices in recent years. Still, the activation of the smartwatch is only possible with a smartphone that has Google Mobile Services (GMS).

So, a modern Huawei smartphone user needs another smartphone, at least to set up the watch. Suppose you want to use all the features of the Galaxy Watch4. In that case, you must necessarily pair the smartwatch with a Samsung Galaxy smartphone because the ECG and blood pressure measurement-do not work in conjunction with other smartphones.
