The Future Of Displays / PC monitors

Technology is redefining the displays of the monitors by making them better and intelligent day by day. Color capabilities, resolution, and sharpness have improved exponentially. The future of the PC monitor is bright and not just stuck to enhancing meager features like pixels and contrast. Office Consumer has compiled a list of some futuristic display technologies that people are likely to see in the coming years.

  1. Ultra-wide Monitors

Unquestionably, the market for ultra-wide monitors has begun to mushroom up. These displays produce stunning contrast and resolution that would benefit graphic designers and photography professionals. Moreover, the cost of these monitors will not stand in your way as more companies are considering a vast display of at least 21:9 to be a new norm rather than standard 16:9.

The design of ultra-wide monitors gives a sleek look. Thus, your office, home workstation, and gaming zones will be more aesthetically appealing.

  1. Bendy displays

The OLED display has already marked its position in monitor displays as this technology offers flexibility. At the same time, many manufacturers are considering bendy screens, both big and small, in OLED designs. The wraparound edges and slightly curved screens can enhance the screen’s image quality, size, and durability. In the last few years, leading manufacturing company LG has unveiled an 18-inch OLED panel. It is so flexible that you can roll it just like a newspaper up to a diameter of three cm and without deteriorating the image quality.

Moreover, significant manufacturers, like SAMSUNG and LG, continue to research and develop flexible displays for various devices.

  1. Touchscreens

HP has designed a system, Sprout Pro, that combines 2D and 3D technology that allows touchscreen interaction on the work surface of offices.

Projection touch screens will also become popular as companies like Sony are bringing Xperia Touch devices into reality. In addition, SenSeg Company is working on the haptic touchscreen technology that renders perceptible response to your finger as you scroll over the content on the screen. You can sense buttons and virtual textures through ultra-low electrical currents, which approximate sensation on the skin.

  1. Gesture control displays

Using hand movement and gestures to regulate the screen features and content would be more advanced than touchscreens. Some expert technological companies, such as Asus, have already incorporated gesture control in their recent monitor models.

Compared to touchscreens, these monitors will be more ergonomic because there is no need to reach over a desk to a screen at eye level or look down at a touchscreen at a hand level. Gestures will be designed using more natural hand and wrist movements than a keyboard, mouse, or touchscreen.

  1. 8K displays

Although upgrading monitors from HD to 4K was an enormous step, shifting to 8k will be even more massive. 4K video has a resolution of 8 megapixels per frame, while 8k will have 32 megapixels. It will be similar to UHD TV resolution, and its capability will be 16 times better than regular HD.

  1. Pocket PC’s

It is quite imaginable to carry out a high-end Pc in our pockets in the future. At present, devices such as the Samsung DeX already let you place your mobile into a dock and transform it into a desktop set-up.

  1. 3-D screens

Big ideas are still emerging in display technology and one of which is the outdoor 3-D display. The Vienna University of technology is researching a display system for 3D billboards, jumbotron screens, and outdoor digital signage. Through 3D pixels, the screen projects images that can shift and move when viewed from various angles.

In addition, the system permits a combination of mirrors and lasers to generate angular resolution. It can produce a 3D image without any help from glasses by making different images on each side of the eye. Nevertheless, this technology is still in progress.

  1. Holographic displays

HoloLens is producing a hologram-like display technology that can project a 4D display, and everyone can see with the help of glasses. Through Virtual representations, an idea of actual products or projects could be given using hologram displays.
