WhatsApp recently released an official method for transferring all of your Whatsapp data from iPhone to Android. However, the feature is currently only available on Samsung devices.
WhatsApp says it will soon expand the feature to other Android devices, as well as allow users to transfer data from Android to iPhone.
You will need the following items to transfer data from an iPhone to a Samsung device:
A USB-C to Lightning cable (or equivalent adapters depending on the type of port on the Samsung device) and the Samsung SmartSwitch app version 3.7.22.1 or later.
Except for the call history and display name, the process will allow for the entire data transfer.
- Using the cable, connect the Samsung phone to the iPhone.
- In the SmartSwitch app, follow the on-screen instructions.
- On the Samsung phone, a QR code will be generated.
- Scan the QR code with your iPhone’s camera.
- On the iPhone, press the Start button and wait for the process to complete.
- Now, open WhatsApp on the Samsung phone and sign in with the same phone number that you used on the iPhone.
- When prompted, select Import. Wait for the process to finish.
