Ford Fiesta and Fiesta ST revealed with new design and features

At its exterior from the front, you will instantly notice the new bonnet design, a larger upper grill which hosts the Ford logo which was previously resting on the bonnet. The LED lights have also undergone a face-lift. Walk around the back of the Ford Fiesta and you will see the new rear lights which come with black surrounds to give the car a premium finish. This new styling will be implemented across all models, that is, the Trend, Titanium, ST-Line and Active variants.

Moving into the interior, you will find a new 12.3inch, fully-configurable TFT digital instrument cluster. It comes with themes that match the driving modes you have selected. The Ford Fiesta brings some exciting technologies including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Speed Sign Recognition, Active Park Assist and Live Traffic updates. There is also a handy Rear Occupant Alert feature which is designed to help drivers avoid leaving children or pets in their vehicle by reminding them to check the back seats when the rear doors have been opened at the start of a journey.

The basic necessities have been improved as well, for instance, the sound system now comes with 10 B&O made speakers, a sub-woofer and 574-watt amplifier all working together to deliver a surround sound experience.

Under the hood, the Ford Fiesta is built with efficiency in mind. You get a EcoBoost Hybrid 48-volt mild hybrid and EcoBoost petrol powertrains. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost Hybrid engine brings 125 PS and 155 PS power outputs, combined with a six-speed manual transmission. If you prefer automatic transmission, the 125 PS is available with it, in a seven speed, dual clutch configuration. To further tailor your driving experience, you have Normal, Sport and Eco Drive Modes at your disposal.

Ford Fiesta ST

Ford also revealed the Fiesta ST, this is the high performance version of the hatchback. As with most performance versions, the outer appearance is enhanced, the ST has honeycomb upper and lower grilles plus bigger lower side vents. There is also a mean green color option for this model.

Staying true to its performance credentials, the Fiesta ST adds Track mode on top of the usual 3 modes of the vanilla version.

Powering the ST is a 1.5 litre EcoBoost engine which deliver a top speed of 143mph and an acceleration of 0 – 60 mph in 65 seconds.

The auto maker is yet to release pricing and availability details.
