On September 14, Apple announced the iPad mini 6 at a special “California streaming” event, and pre-orders began immediately after the keynote. While the official release date of the new iPad mini in stores was set for Friday, September 24, customers all over the world have already received the device.
The sixth-generation iPad mini features a new design inspired by the most recent iPad Pro and iPad Air models, which feature uniform bezels and no Home button. The iPad mini 6 has a larger 8.3-inch screen and supports the second-generation Apple Pencil, as well as the new A15 Bionic chip found in the iPhone 13.
As we reported last week, the iPad mini 6’s shipping date has already been pushed back to October or even November, depending on the configuration. For example, if you try to buy the entry-level iPad mini model with 64GB of storage and Wi-Fi in the United States, Apple says it will ship in 4 to 6 weeks.
Fortunately, units are already being delivered to customers who pre-ordered the new iPad last week. As you can see in the images below, some users have shared images of their iPad mini 6 on Twitter:
