The phenomenal success of the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 demonstrates Samsung’s right to be the first to bring foldable to the general market this year.

Although there is no information on sales figures in Kenya or Africa in general, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 have been genuine box office successes in South Korea. According to industry sources contacted by The Korea Herald, the millionth Samsung foldable is anticipated to be sold this weekend, marking an unexpectedly big success for the still-young category of folding phones.

By contrast, this is approximately the rate of a Galaxy Note10 or Galaxy S8 a month after introduction, indicating that Samsung’s third Foldable generation has seemingly entered the mainstream, at least among the South Korean populace. Indeed, the substantially cheaper pricing compared to the previous year helped, notably the Galaxy Z Flip 3, which was lowered in price by almost a third.

It’s hardly surprising that Samsung’s beautiful flip phone won much more hearts than the tiny foldable tablet, which is still somewhat awkward for some. The Herald says the Galaxy Z Flip3 has sold almost twice as many units as the Galaxy Z Fold3.
