You can include a link in your Instagram bio to help your Instagram followers find you on other platforms and websites. This can be any link you want, and we’ll show you how to add it to your account.
The link you add to your Instagram profile will be displayed directly beneath your bio. This, unlike the URLs in your posts, will be a clickable link. Unfortunately, you can only have one link in your bio at a time.
Add a Link to Your Instagram Bio on Mobile
Use the official Instagram app on an iPhone or Android phone to add a link to your Instagram bio.
- Open the Instagram app on your smartphone. Select the profile icon from the bottom bar of the app (which is the last icon in the bar).
- Your profile page will be displayed. Tap “Edit Profile” to the right of your profile information.
- You’ve arrived at the “Edit Profile” screen. Tap the “Website” field and enter the link you want to include in your bio. Then, in the upper-right corner of the “Edit Profile” screen, click the checkmark icon.
- Instagram will take you to your profile page. You’ll notice your newly added link right beneath your bio.
And that is how you let people know about your existence outside of this photo and video sharing site. Very useful!
Add a Link to Your Instagram Bio on the Web
- Use the Instagram website on a Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook computer to include a link in your bio.
- Begin by launching a web browser on your computer and going to the Instagram website. If you haven’t already done so, sign in to the site.
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the Instagram site.
- Select “Settings” from the menu that appears after clicking your profile icon.
- Select “Edit Profile” from the sidebar on the left of the settings page that appears.
- Click the “Website” field on the right pane and enter the link you want to include in your bio. Then, at the bottom of the page, press the “Submit” button.
- Instagram will add the newly added link to your profile. Go to your profile page, and you’ll find your link there.
This is a very useful feature because it allows you to direct people to your other online profiles and sites.
