You Can Now Post to Instagram Directly From Your Desktop.

Instagram is introducing a new feature that will allow you to post photos and videos to the social network directly from your desktop.

Instagram has raised the bar by allowing desktop uploads; the feature is now available to all users.

Rather than developing an official app for tablets, particularly the iPad, Instagram has taken the unusual step of allowing anyone to post directly to the network from a desktop web browser. Finally!

This feature is currently being rolled out, so you may not see it right away. However, it functions exactly as it does when using the official iPhone and Android apps. You can add captions, filters, and other features.

To use this feature, simply open the Instagram website in your web browser, sign in, click the + button in the top right-hand corner, and upload away.

Keep in mind that, while video uploads are supported, they are limited to content under one minute in length. We anticipate that Instagram will raise the limit in the future. But for the time being, you’ll have to make do with minute-long videos.

Again, you might not notice the feature right away. Because this is a large feature, expect it to take up to a week to fully roll out. Given how long you’ve been waiting, a few more days won’t hurt.
