Qualcomm has announced four new Snapdragon CPUs aimed at cheaper smartphones

2021is coming to an end very soon and Qualcomm wants to take a better part of the following year by revealing four new chipsets, mainly the 400, 600, and 700 series. As early as next year, many manufacturers producing low-cost handsets will feel the power of these processors shortly

These four new references, 5G compatible, breathe new life into the entry and mid-range segments. They should improve the performance and functionality of the low-cost smartphones that will be released in the coming months. Many manufacturers, including HMD Global Honor, Motorola, Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi, have already stated their plan to employ these new SoCs.

Qualcomm wants to take advantage of the rising interest in 5G and democratize the new cellular network even further while waiting to replace its top-of-the-range with a hypothetical Snapdragon 898, which we should hear about at the end of the year. “Mid-range smartphones are projected to be the primary driver of 5G device adoption, particularly in emerging areas,” which appears to be pursuing a vast Indian market in particular. To persuade, the company intends to bring some of the Snapdragon 800 series’ cutting-edge capabilities to the lower price points. Consumers and OEMs will benefit since they will provide more cheap mobiles with more outstanding features.

In particular, the Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G succeeds the Snapdragon 778G by providing enhanced in-game capabilities and improved AI performance. They’ll come in handy when it comes to picture and video editing. 5G millimeter and sub-6GHz waves are supported by the Snapdragon 695 5G. It also has 30 percent better graphics performance, thanks to a CPU component that is 15 percent quicker than the Snapdragon 690s. Qualcomm promises a 6 nm engraving on the new Snapdragon 680 Plus 4G, enabling improved performance, especially in games. The upgrade to a triple ISP for improved quality images in low light, all aided by AI, is also highlighted by the company.

Qualcomm is a touch more understated with its entry-level Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G CPU. In less than a year, more than 85 products have employed the basic Snapdragon 480, according to Qualcomm. As a result, the 480 Plus 5G must step up to the plate, but this time with 5G cellular connectivity, as the name implies. Increased performance is also mentioned, but no additional specifics are available at this time.
