What is Power delivery (PPS) and Compatible chargers

At the Moment, many or different smartphone manufacturers are coming up with smartphones without a charger in the package. This forces many buyers and fans of various to seek fast charging as the alternative solution. But how does fast charging function? This guide will explain what PPS(Programmable power supply) is and why it is necessary for fast charging.

PPS rapid charging was introduced to the USB Power Delivery 3.0 standard in 2017 by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), a group that focuses on USB technology. Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 technology fulfilled PPS criteria the same year.

This PPS standard assures that the power supply may modify the output voltage and current dynamically in response to the smartphone’s status. This is referred to as a programmable power supply (PPS). All of these characteristics will vary every 10 minutes to adapt to the demands of the battery to maximise its charge. In general, this technique ensures efficient charging.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 and its successors like the Galaxy S21 were the first phones approved for PPS fast charging. Many items, including laptops, implement the PPS standard, allowing quicker, safer, and more efficient charging. Nonetheless, certain manufacturers, including Oppo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi, utilise home technology. This enables them to provide ultra-fast charging, among other things but also necessitates appropriate chargers.

Chargers that Currently support PPS

The PPS standard is not always met by USB-C Power Delivery chargers. Power Delivery is available in a variety of forms. So here are several chargers that can charge any gadget, even iPhones that charge quickly. You can charge more demanding devices like a PC or MacBook with a charger that has high output power, for example, 45W and even past that
