Design

The Nokia C20 takes a Nordic design that features more simplicity, Unique craftmanship, and understandable functionality. The screen of the smartphone in our review takes 6.5 inches as its diagonal screen size; thus would require you to use both hands to understand its embodiment once in your grasp. The smartphone’s back is fitted with a removable rough plastic body that covers the smartphone’s internals (A removable battery, Two sim card slots, and a Micro SD Slot) and helps in rejecting fingerprints simultaneously. There is also a Porturded Camera Bump that houses the 5MP primary camera, and a Single Audio speaker can be found at the bottom right of the Plastic case.

We also find two volume rockers and the Power button on the Right-hand side of the device but No Google assistant Key, in this case, a 3.55mm earphone jack sitting at the Top, and the Micro USB charging port at the bottom

Screen

As mentioned earlier, Nokia played around with an adaptive L3 display(IPS LCD) by default for this model. Switching between various lite applications that the smartphone comes with is faster than switching between large applications where you will notice some lagging. The screen is “Somewhat perfect” for streaming your favorite online content, but hey, HD content would not be a perfect idea for this device because of some clarity issues.

Software and Performance

The Nokia C20 device plays around with the Unisoc SC9863A chipset that can also be found in the Plus version of the same model. As per our benchmark, you can see from the image below that the Soc takes two clusters. Cluster one performs at a speed of up to 1.60GHz while the second cluster moves up to 1.20 GHz.This is backed by the 2GB/32GB storage size. It would be best to see if the device gets Android 12 shortly, not promised, though; however, the Android 11 can still do the task.

If you are good at paying attention to details, you will notice that the Nokia C20 device comes with Many Google Go Applications by default. So um, I think Nokia may be trying to communicate indirectly as one what suddenly rings at the back of my mind is that to bring the best out of this device, avoid using heavy apps because the Go apps are very lite taking very little space thus providing room for other processes to be carried out.

We don’t blame this, but performance-wise Nokia C20  results are below average from the attached Geekbench mark test. The smartphone took a Vulkan score of 91 Points. Running the CPU test, we had 127 points for the Single-core test and 474 for the multi-core test. Nokia must work on the performance and overload of this device, especially if they want to be at the same level as its direct competitors at the same price segment.

Audio

There were predicaments in this scenario that were very difficult for me to Judge personally, but a decision must be made in the end. In less Noisy surroundings, the sound from the back speaker is excellent and straightforward, but playing sound with the base tends to lose some of its clarity; thus would recommend the set of earphones that comes with the device. After all, listening to muffled sounds is not that pleasing to the ears.

Autonomy

The device uses a 3000mAh battery with a 5W charger. During our test, the device would go for a maximum of 30hrs of daily use, considering that you are only using it for essential purposes. However, if you add playing some games and watching favorite shows on youtube, its battery life would decrease. Charing the device took us precisely 230 minutes to take the smartphone from 0 to 100%. The device utilizes a Micro-USB-B charging cable. It would be best if the manufacturer had played around with a USB type c compared to Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones, which are already doing this with most of their entry-level smartphones.

 Cameras

For this model, we have only one main sensor and a selfie camera

  • Main sensor:5MP
  • Selfie Camera: 5MP

If you are a smartphone lover and a person looking for a better smartphone, the Nokia C20 model does the job, but it won’t assure you of that Professionalism in your career. Daylight photos are far way much better than the ones captured at night. Even you will struggle here and there as the camera sensor focuses on the subject, especially if the issue is exposed to direct sunlight. Some of the camera features that you can play around with are:

  • Panorama
  • Video
  • Photo
  • Time-lapse

Nokia C20: What we Like

  • Battery Life is okay
  • Stylish design

Nokia C20:  What we hate

  • Average Performance
  • The camera is not that amazing

Our Verdict about the Nokia C20 gadget

So um, Nothing new with the device, but it still does what it has been manufactured for. Its hardware is still strong enough; thus, the camera quality isn’t that bad though its performance drains the device. For those who only need a device that would satisfy their daily needs, Nokia has something for you with this model, but if you are a professional, this won’t be a go solution for you
