Google has experienced the delights of building and deploying a homegrown semiconductor with its Tensor SoC and has seen the advantages for its current 6 Pixels. As a result, it is no surprise to discover that the company is already working on a new generation SoC, this time created in-house, to power the upcoming Pixel 7.
9to5Google identified hints to something like a new product connected to the Pixel line, marked by the tag line “Cloudripper,” after searching through the programs’ code on the existing Pixel 6. According to the specialist site, the latter would not refer to “a baseboard or a development board having hardware in common with both phones,” but rather to “a baseboard or a development board having hardware in common with both phones.”
