How to Clear Chrome Search History.

If you use Google’s Chrome browser, which most people do, you should clear your browsing history from time to time. It’s always a good idea to do this for privacy reasons, and it’s not difficult to do.

Almost every browser, from Mozilla Firefox to Safari and Microsoft Edge, saves a history of your Internet activity. Most of the time, these places are what you would expect them to be, but occasionally you may end up somewhere you did not expect to be, and as a result, you may not want that in your history. Sometimes you just want to clear everything out and start over.

How to Clear Browser History in Chrome for Desktop

  • Open Google Chrome on Windows, Mac, or Linux, and then click the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner. Hover your mouse cursor over “More Tools” and select “Clear Browsing Data.”
  • To delete your entire browsing history, select “All Time” from the top-right drop-down box and check the “Browsing history” option. If you want, you can also clear your download history, cookies, and browser cache. To finish, click “Clear Data.”

How to Clear Browser History in Chrome for Mobile

  • On your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone or tablet, launch Google Chrome. Depending on your device, the process will look slightly different. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner (bottom-right on iPhone and iPad) and select “History.”
  • Tap “Clear Browsing Data” at the top of the History list on iPhone and iPad, or the bottom of the list on Android.
  • Using the “Time Range” option, specify how far back you want to clear data. Tap “Clear Data” after selecting “Browsing History.”
