How to make an iPhone louder: Alter the EQ settings on your iPhone

The iPhone has a limited equalizer (EQ) that affects the sound in the Music app. It is disabled by default, but one of the options, Late Night, will significantly increase the volume of your music.

This is accomplished by normalizing the sound coming from the Music app so that quieter parts of a song are amplified. Although the louder parts are slightly quieted, the overall effect is dramatic, especially when the volume is turned up.

Here’s how to adjust the EQ settings on your iPhone to make the speaker louder. The trick also works if you’re listening through headphones, but keep in mind that changing this setting has no effect on audio that isn’t played through Music.

  • To begin, launch the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll down and select Music.
  • Now, go to the Audio section and select EQ.
  • Scroll down the list and select Late Night.
  • You can now listen to music. To see what difference EQ makes, try turning it on and off.

Don’t reduce loud sounds to make your iPhone louder.

Apple has included a function that reduces loud sounds to protect your hearing. It lets you set the maximum decibel level for your headphone audio, which is set to 85 by default.

However, if you disable this function, the sound from your iPhone will not be affected in any way. A word of caution, however: if you intend to listen to music through headphones at high volume for an extended period, exercise caution. You don’t want to endanger your hearing.

Here is how to turn off Reduce Loud Sounds.

  • To begin, launch the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll to the bottom and select Sounds & Haptics.
  • Select Headphone Safety from the Headphone Audio menu.
  •  Now deactivate Reduce Loud Sounds.

How to make an iPhone louder: Boost the volume in Spotify

We’ve already discussed how to increase the volume in the Apple Music app. You can do the same in Spotify’s main competitor, but you must be a Premium subscriber.

If you are, here’s how to increase the volume in Spotify.

  • After opening the Spotify app, select the Home tab.
  • Now, in the top-right corner, tap the Settings icon.
  • Look down the list and tap Playback.
  • Tap Loud next to Volume Level to reduce the dynamic levels and thus increase the volume.

How to Increase the Volume of an iPhone: Place the iPhone in a glass or bowl.

In addition to fiddling with the settings on your iPhone, you can look for physical ways to magnify the sound.

Simply placing the iPhone in a bowl or glass — anything curved and open at the top — is a simple trick. Simply make sure the iPhone’s bottom-mounted speakers are pointing downwards. As a result, sound waves can bounce off the sides and into the air.

If you can’t find a bowl and want to lay the iPhone flat, position it so that the speaker is at a 45-degree angle to a wall. This, once again, causes sound waves to bounce and raises the volume.

How to Make an iPhone Louder: Don’t Cover the Speakers

You should take care not to cover the speaker with your hand while holding it, as this will muffle the sound. If you’re holding it, cup your hands around either end (without touching the ends) to direct the sound towards your ears.

There is no harm in turning the iPhone upside down so that the speaker is at the top of the device. If you decide to prop it up, make sure it doesn’t slip.
