How Xiaomi intends to keep your smartphone cool in the future

The Chinese manufacturer has proposed the Loop Liquid-Cool Technology idea to cool its forthcoming gadgets properly instead of the capillarity loop. The advent of powerful CPUs to our smartphones, similar to laptops, necessitates high heat dissipation requirements. The manufacturer has devised a new cooling system inspired by aerospace techniques to keep its future mobiles cool despite their increased power by using capillarity and condensation concepts.

This sophisticated closed-circuit system makes use of a circular and complex heat pipe that includes an evaporator, a condenser, a recharge chamber, and separate routes for the gas and liquid agents. In the second half of 2022, Xiaomi will release the first Xiaomi gadgets using Loop LiquidCool Technology.

On smartphones, traditional cooling systems based on steam chambers do not have separate channels for gases and liquids, as Gizmochina points out. As a result, hot gas and cold liquids combine and jam up. This is an issue that Xiaomi’s solution immediately addresses.

Near the heat sources is the evaporator that encompasses the refrigerant liquid agent, which evaporates into gas as the smartphone heats up when a heavy process is being handled, for example, playing games(large applications) that take many portions of the Ram. The gas is then moved by airflow to the condenser, where it shifts to a liquid state; thus, at this stage, we say that the system is self-contained because the Gases, on the other hand, are obstructed and unable to go in the other direction
