Xiaomi Laser Cinema 2 4K becomes the first video Projector to incorporate Dolby Vision

For the first time, Dolby Vision is available in the Cinema 2 4K Laser, according to Xiaomi. Although HDR10 projectors are ubiquitous, there is yet to be a video projector certified for Dolby Vision.

The Xiaomi Laser Cinema 2 4K goes a step farther as it supports Dolby vision and does what  Samsung The Premiere can handle as far as its HDR10+/HLG complaint is concerned. To get a 150-inch picture, the Xiaomi Laser Cinema 2 4K must be moved just 20 cm away from the wall. 14 cm will be enough for a diagonal of 80 inches, which is already sufficient.

This projector boasts a brightness of 2,400 ANSI lumens to achieve Dolby Vision certification. As a reminder, the Dolby Vision standard uses dynamic metadata to show richer colours than typical HDR10 content while also fine-tuning the brightness of the presented picture.

The definition is 4K, as the name implies. We haven’t received confirmation yet, but it’s probably not native 4K, as most 4K projectors are. Instead, this projector will display two 1920 x 1080 pixel pictures to provide the impression of a 4K image. As a result, the resolution will be greater than Full HD, but we shouldn’t anticipate the visual finesse of a 4K UHD television. A 64-bit MediaTek SoC with a frequency of up to 1.9 GHz and 32 GB of storage powers the projector. The projector has three HDMI 2.0 connectors, two USB 2.0 ports, an SPDIF connection, and an Ethernet port at the connectivity level. A dual 15-watt speaker and Dolby Atmos certification are also included. Like other Xiaomi projectors, the Laser Cinema 2 4K   comes with Android. This particular model, however, is not currently available outside of China.
